What is Meditation?

Simplistically said Meditation is a very simple way of achieving mental peace and self-awareness. It is a self-directed practice for relaxing the body and calming the mind from various chatters going on in the head. It is a form of self-healing.

Although most of the eastern religions have concentrated on meditation as a means of realising spiritual enlightenment but there are many more other benefits and more particularly health promoting benefits.

 Presently, meditation has become popular for health and spiritual expansion and fulfilment without any religious basis. It is being practiced as a self-help tool for promoting good health and managing stress.

Many forms of meditation are being used to clearing your mind to promote a sense of calm and heightened awareness. During meditation, your brain’s activity alters significantly, as shown by devices such as electroencephalographs (EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment.

How long is a Meditation Program?

Meditation programs can last from 30 – 60 minutes. Individual meditation practices for short duration are also advised.

Group meditation sessions are mainly guided meditations. A sense of calm and heightened awareness is felt during the session but each individual has their own experience. There are no required numbers of sessions. You are invited to come and be part of Group meditations as and when they are held.
